Anx Reader Setup Guide
Configure Kitta AI as an OpenAI-compatible TTS service in Anx Reader and narrate ebooks with a cloned voice.
Connect Kitta AI TTS to Anx Reader
Anx Reader supports OpenAI-compatible TTS starting with version 1.12.0. You can use a Kitta AI system voice or your own cloned voice to narrate EPUB, MOBI, PDF, TXT, and other supported books.
Before you start
- Update Anx Reader to version 1.12.0 or later.
- Create a dedicated key in API management.
- Open your cloned voice and copy its Voice ID.
- Confirm that your API credit balance is sufficient.
For the first test, you can use this system test voice:

Open Anx Reader's narration settings, switch the TTS service to OpenAI TTS, and enter:

Use the complete endpoint
Anx Reader sends requests directly to the URL field and does not append /audio/speech. Do not
enter only https://kittaai.com/v1, and do not append /audio/speech twice.
Save the settings, open a book, and start TTS from the narration menu. Test a short selection before narrating a full chapter.
Voice and speed notes
- The Voice field requires a Voice ID, not the voice's display name.
- Anx Reader's built-in OpenAI voice list does not discover Kitta AI voices. Paste the ID directly into the Voice setting.
- Instructions are not required for this Kitta AI connection and can remain empty.
- If a voice change does not take effect, stop the current narration and start it again instead of only pausing and resuming.
Troubleshooting
- 404: use the complete
https://kittaai.com/v1/audio/speechURL. - 401: the API key is invalid, revoked, or incomplete. Create a new key dedicated to this app.
- 402: add API credits before trying again.
- 400 or invalid voice: use
fishaudio-s21pro-flashas the model and a valid Kitta AI Voice ID. - The system voice still plays: verify that the narration service is OpenAI TTS rather than system TTS.
- Long chapters stop: verify a short selection first, then reduce Anx Reader's narration segment length.
